A YOUTHCAMP IN ESTONIA
A Non-Formal Education Experience

Today, we meet Heleri from Estonia. Heleri has attended many youth camps in her native Estonia. Aged 18 she is now organising her own events. She describes how communication activities, peer-to-peer learning, social skills and dance classes have brought young people together allowing them to enjoy themselves whilst building connections. She feels this has had an impact on the local community making it a friendlier place to grow up.

Scouting in Belgium
A Hands On Activity for Youth

Welcome to Antwerp, Belgium. We meet the local Scouts who are reaching out to disadvantaged youth who are usually not involved in civil society activities. By using non-formal education methods, the Scouts aim to give young people skills that are useful for them for the rest of their lives. Their outreach is direct and targeted, happening on a street corner or in a park near you. Youth work is able to bridge divides in our societies.

Student Rights Work in Finland
A Student Union mobilizes

Students and young people are not only our future, they are our present. They have rights in our society, and Finlands Svenska Skolungdomsförbund are working on making young people know just this. A cornerstone of democracy is a well informed citizenry, and youth work does just this.

Youth Council Work in Portugal
Debating ....

A strong voice for young people. With the economical crisis affecting many young people across Europe, the national youth council of Portugal brings young voices to political actors. Youth know the situation they are living in, and in order for effective policies to be developed, they need to be included and listened to. National youth councils do just this.
